In his address, President Sisi highlighted Egypt's ambitious plans to improve the investment climate and facilitate foreign direct investment. "The Egyptian government has adopted an ambitious plan to improve the investment climate and strengthen the role of the private sector in driving economic development," he said. He outlined measures taken to provide incentives and remove obstacles for foreign investors, emphasizing Egypt's commitment to creating an investor-friendly environment.
The President noted the significant opportunities available in Egypt’s market, particularly in sectors such as energy—including traditional, renewable, and green energy—transport, infrastructure, industry, agriculture, and information and communications technology. He underscored the strategic advantages of Egypt’s geographic location, which serves as a gateway to key global markets.
The event, attended by Crown Prince Haakon of Norway, Norwegian Minister of International Development Anne Beathe, and senior executives from major Norwegian companies and investment funds, provided a platform to bolster economic ties between the two nations.
Addressing the assembled Norwegian business leaders, President Sisi invited them to build on the successes of existing partnerships between Egyptian and Norwegian entities. "I invite all Norwegian companies and investment funds to augment their presence in the Egyptian market and to build on the existing successes of cooperation between several major Norwegian companies and the Egyptian side," he said.
The President’s visit included productive discussions with King Harald V of Norway, Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store, the Speaker of Parliament, and the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence. These meetings highlighted a shared commitment to deepening bilateral relations politically, economically, and culturally.
President Sisi expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to engage directly with Norwegian business leaders, calling the event a "valuable opportunity to better understand your vision for increasing Norwegian investments in Egypt and to take practical steps towards realizing this goal."
