The Egyptian Cabinet has granted the Golden License to Huhtamaki Egypt for its project to establish and operate a factory dedicated to the production, distribution, and sale of molded fiber packaging in various types, sizes, and shapes.
This includes paper fruit trays, cup carriers, and egg cartons, both printed and unprinted.
The factory will be built on a 21,700 square meter plot within the industrial zone developed by CPC Egypt for Industrial Development in Sadat City, Monufia Governorate.
This marks the company's fourth project in Egypt.
The project involves an investment of approximately 1.5 billion Egyptian pounds, including 24 million euros in foreign investment.
It aims to export 70 percent of its production to global markets while achieving a 70 percent local component.
The project will also introduce and localize modern technologies and advanced techniques in Egypt, fostering innovation and scientific research in sustainable packaging solutions.
As part of the Huhtamaki Group, a global leader in the field of sustainable packaging, the project is expected to enhance Egypt’s position in the packaging industry, support local industrial capabilities, and contribute to the development of innovative, eco-friendly packaging solutions.
